Uplifting the lives of those who have been ignored, economically sidelined and old, Sevasram identifies such requirements and creates special programs. The services
extend not just to uplifting the weaker section but also to care for those who can afford it, but who cannot find quality, service and likemindedness.
VANAPRASTHA - AN AGE CARE PROJECT
Sevasramam, which is established in an acre of land in the heart of the city cochin houses an old age home – Vanaprastha. There are 70 inmates leading a community life, in a comfortable surrounding. The accommodation is provided to the inmates at a nominal rate. The sevasramam is established adjacent to Devi temple and Dharma Sastha Temple. It has got a prayer hall, Yoga and cultural activity halls, and two auditoriums. The peace and tranquillity gives a lot of mental comfort to the inmates. They are housed in single /double rooms that are self-contained.
The average age group of the inmates are around 80 years Sevasramam take maximum care in helping them to lead a peaceful life during their sunset days. However, for want of funds and facilities we are not in a position to arrange for any stand by medical and nursing facilities at the sevasramam. Those who fall sick will be taken to the hospital and all possible nursing care is given to them. The construction of Vanaprastha phase II is on. The proposal is to construct 25 rooms (10 double and 15 single).
VILLAGE ADOPTION
The approach of the sevasramam in the adopted villages are in extending financial help, helping students to complete their education, skill development , women empowerment and formation of the self help groups to mention a few.
7 Villages in and around Cochin Corporation are adopted by the sevasramam. Jointly with Help Age India, Rotary Club International, Public Sector undertakings like Banks, a generous donation from individuals, well-wishers and members of the Asramam, we have undertaken many programmes, It includes poverty alleviation, medical care, establishing tuition centers, computer Education facilities, and women empowerment.

THE ULTIMATE FREEDOM IS THROUGH EDUCATION
Under this scheme we have helped 1200 students belonging to orphanages, tribal schools, slums, harijan colonies and from own adopted Villages, in total. The children are in various level of their studies, from L.P to professional courses. Under the sponsorship programme at present we have 50 students doing higher studies in Medical, Technical Nursing and other branches of education. We have spent more than 5 Lakhs, under the scheme in 2018.

Besides we have a scheme of distribution of educational aids like note books, uniform, umbrella etc to poor needy students every year. This will be done at the beginning of each academic year. This we are doing for the last 15 years. At the beginning of this of financial year we have distributed educational aids to the tune of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs only)

Eligible children are identified by a screening committee and the most deserving get the assistance. They are financed either from the common pool or by locating individual sponsors.
Food for needy : The money collected under this scheme is being utilized to feed school going children. The idea is to avoid drop outs. This Project is arranged with the help of assistance from other organizations also. We have spent Rs. 1,60,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Sixty thousand Only), during the last financial year.
RELIGIOUS & CULTURAL PROGRAMMES
Regular discourses in spiritual subjects, various training programmes are conducted by competent faculty in the asramam auditoriums. There are regular classes on Meditation, Astrology, Sanskrit, Bhagavat gita, Upanishads and Yoga with emphasis on curative aspects of Yoga are conducted.

2 Session of yoga classes are conducted by sevasramam every day for the last 17 years. There is good participation from general public, especially during the last 5 years. Because of the enhanced awareness people from different walks of life are interested in yoga training. Sevasramam, because of the limited space are not in a position to increase the intake and had to stop accepting new entrants for the yoga classes.

Under the leadership, guidance and assistance from the sevasramam community centers were constructed and handed our to the villages at Pandra colony, Karikkathuruth and cheriyamthuruth.
MEDICAL CAMP
Medical camps are conducted at the sevasramam with the help of hospitals and voluntary organizations. This is of great help for the aged and ailing people of our villages as well as the sevasramam inmates
TRAINING PROGRAMMES
Personality development, leadership development programmes are conducted at the sevasramam for students of all ages and levels. These training equip them to face the challenges and build confidence to succeed in this world of competition
COVID RELIEF WORKS

More than 1200 food kits were distributed to the needy in various poor colonies.

Cooked food was distributed during the complete lockdown days to 2500 peoples

Distributed 10 smartphones & Tv to the students to continue their studies on the lockdown period.
ADOPT A GRANNY PROJECT
We have selected 70 families from the villages adopted by us. They are mostly bedridden and have no means to feed themselves, either left by their children or without anybody to take care. Theses unfortunate people are fed by the sevasramam. We provide them with one month ration at a time which includes provision, toiletries etc, regularly. The monthly expenses are to the tune of Rs.50,000/- This programme is being executed by locating sponsors.
CONSTRUCTION OF MEDITATION HALL
Construction of meditation hall in the ground floor and A medical consulting room, recovery room and recreation room in the first floor are progressing. This project is assisted by RITES under their CSR project assistance.
